SportImpact had been invited to the Forum to showcase its work using ‘adapted sport’ equipment, inspired by Peace and Sport’s Adapted Sport Manual. During the forum delegates, speakers and organizers could learn about the Sport for Life project in Timor-Leste by talking with Nuno Delicado and visiting SportImpact’s stand, where videos, photos, documents and sport equipment were on display.

SportImpact was also one of the three nominees to the Peace and Sport ‘Adapted Programme of the Year’ Award. The British Council ended up winning the award, with its DOSTI project in Karachi (Pakistan), which aims at building community cohesion by making sports a part of youngsters social life.

On the last day of the Forum, Nuno Delicado co-facilitated a workshop, jointly with James Schone (British Council), David Blough (Pl4y International) and Omer Hayimana (Gitega Youth Centre). Nuno presented the ‘Sport for Life’ project and exemplified SportImpact’s methodologies by engaging workshop participants in several exercises. Participants were very appreciative and several requested copies of the materials, interested in using them in their own projects.

The Forum was also an opportunity to network with like-minded individuals and organizations, and explore collaboration towards higher impact.
