Equipa ‘Timor-Leste SportImpact’ Arrasa Competição no Sabah Adventure Challenge
No passado domingo, 20 de Abril, a equipa ‘Timor-Leste SportImpact’ venceu o Sabah Adventure Challenge, uma corrida de aventura de três dias no Bornéu da Malásia. A corrida incluiu um total de 140 km percorridos a pé, em bicicleta e por rio, que a equipa completou em 19 horas. Apesar dos desafios incluindo hipoglicémia, uma entorse e temperaturas próximas dos 40 graus Celsius, a equipa de Timor-Leste venceu não só a corrida geral mas também cada uma das três etapas, cada dia com cerca de uma hora de vantagem sobre a segunda equipa.
A equipa ‘Timor-Leste SportImpact’ foi constituída por Nuno Delicado, diretor da SportImpact e antigo campeão português de pentatlo moderno, e Nelson Silva, assessor do Secretário de Estado do Desporto e Juventude de Timor-Leste e antigo campeão português de duatlo.
Após o evento, a equipa expressou a intenção de participar em outras competições radicais na região, e em explorar trazer eventos deste tipo para Timor-Leste.

Team ‘Timor-Leste SportImpact’ Smashes Competition in Sabah Adventure Challenge
Last Sunday, 20th of April, team ‘Timor-Leste SportImpact’ won the Sabah Adventure Challenge, a three-day adventure race in Malaysian Borneo. The race included 140 km on foot, bike and river, which the team completed in a total of 19 hours. Despite the challenges of hypoglycemia, a sprained ankle, and temperatures close to 40 degrees Celsius, the team from Timor-Leste won not only the overall race but also each of the three stages, every day with about one-hour advantage over the second team.
The ‘Timor-Leste SportImpact’ team was constituted by Nuno Delicado, SportImpact director and former Portuguese modern pentathlon champion, and Nelson Silva, advisor to the Timor-Leste Secretary of State for Youth and Sport and former Portuguese duathlon champion.
After the event the team expressed their intention to participate in other extreme competitions in the region, and also to explore bringing to Timor-Leste similar events.
