Clube Desportivo Maubara (Maubara Sport Club) organizes on October 20th MegaSprinter, a simplified athletics event for kids, and invites schools to take part.
MegaSprinter was started 10 years ago in Portugal and today is organized around there at class, school, district and national level. Carlos Santos, a Physical Education teacher and former member of the Portuguese Athletics Federation was the creator of project Megasprinter in Portugal.
In 2012, Carlos Santos came to Timor-Leste and trained Clube Desportivo Maubara to organize MegaSprinter, helping the club build a simple athletics low-cost track over gravel, with bamboo marking the lanes.
Since then, Clube Desportivo Maubara has organized MegaSprinter, inviting other schools to take part, besides making it part of weekly activities for Maubara children.
SportImpact and project Mós Bele are supporting Clube Desportivo Maubara to activate MegaSprinter and to involve other schools, in order to replicate the project in other parts of the country, aiming at engaging all villages, sukus, sub-districts and districts in a few years.

O MegaSprinter começou há 10 anos em Portugal e hoje é organizado por todo o país a nível de aula, escola, distrito e nacional.
O português Carlos Santos, professor de educação física e responsável da Federação Portuguesa de Atletismo foi quem iniciou o projecto Megasprinter em Portugal.
Em 2012, Carlos Santos veio a Timor e ensinou o Clube Desportivo Maubara a organizar o MegaSprinter, ajudando-os a construir uma pista simples sobre gravilha, com bambu a marcar as pistas.
Desde então o Clube Desportivo Maubara tem organizado o MegaSprinter, convidando outras escolas a participar, além de fazer parte das atividades regulares semanais para crianças de Maubara.
A SportImpact e o programa Mós Bele estão a apoiar o Clube Desportivo de Maubara a ativar o MegaSprinter e a envolver outras escolas, para replicar o projeto noutras partes do país, com vista a estar em todas as aldeias, sukus, sub-distritos e distritos daqui a uns anos, segundo os organizadores.
