Peace Run in Timor-Leste

The Peace Run, a global torch relay that promotes international friendship and understanding, came to Dili, Timor-Leste, on November 9-13th.

It was an impressive set of events over 5 days, bringing together a variety of stakeholders: Government institutions and top leaders, sport organizations, NGOs…  On November 12th the Peace Run torch was part of National Youth Day celebrations (in memory of the Santa Cruz Cemetery massacre of 12/Nov/1991).

The event would not have been such a great success without precious contributions from all national and international volunteers, in particular Mara Bernardes de Sá, and Nelson Silva (Secretary of Sate for Youth and Sport).
